Just wanted to share a quick note about a game for the 360 that I'm really looking forward to (along with Gears of War 2, and Banjo Kazooie (the ORIGINAL) on XBLA).
It's called Left 4 Dead, and it's being published by Valve, so you know it's gonna be good (these are the Half Life / Portal guys).
If you know a lil bit about me, you probably know that I'm slightly obsessed with the idea of a world - changing zombie apocalypse. If you don't know me, well, I'm slightly obsessed with the idea of a world - changing zombie apocalypse. Basically, this is what Left 4 Dead is all about. However, instead of being similar to Dead Rising, Left 4 Dead takes a more realistic approach. You aren't simply trapped in a mall trying to complete objectives, you're thrown into various realistic situations with a single objective. Survive. This is accomplished by teaming up with 3 other members (you + 3 = 4, hence the number in the title) who all have the same goal of survival. There will be co-op online play, as well as local multiplayer, and local single player.
So far the game is shaping up to be really awesome, and I love the idea of having multiple scenarios instead of one long - drawn out campaign mode. This ensures that you'll be able to pick it up and play it for a half hour, or half of a day, whatever you have time for.
Joystiq recently (read, today) did a preview / hands on article on Left 4 Dead at E3. The link is here: www.joystiq.com/2008/07/16/joystiq-e3-hands-on-left-4-dead/. Check it out and lemme know what you guys think. I'll definitely be on xbox live in November with this game...
